Sharing policy

Greetings all,

Thank you for your interest in learning a part of the composition.

A REQUEST
I just have one request. Please do not share these PDF's.
It's just for those who registered and purchased the workshop.

If others would like to learn please recommend them to this workshop.
Thank you for honoring my work in this way.

If you want to record yourself playing the introduction feel free to share.

So for 20 years Dragonfly was a piece memorized and embodied.
It never had any notation.
It was created with an open mind to venture out of our common
time signature and unfolded organically and intuitively.

I didn't know exactly all the timing or what my hands were intuitively
doing as I also gave myself permission to have a little room to improvise
within the timing.

2021's theme was make this year like no other.

Learning songs is actually a challenging thing for me.
I can create new songs spontaneously in an instant.

That year I just decided I would attempt to learn my own song
to put it into notation.
It was a painstaking and exciting project to dissect it.
I had to slow my hands down to where the song is not so recognizable to see
what strokes I was using.
I created some of my own techniques and had to make up new notation.

I felt like my brain was having surgery each time dissecting the song to notate.

The drum notation represents many hours of concentrated focused time.
Rewarding to finally after 20 + years have it notated.

I taught it for the first time in 2021 and it was amazing as well as exhausting
and said I'd never teach it again but 2024 there is a little opening so thank you
for being open to trying the Introduction out!

Warmest
Miranda
