Layne Redmond, my late teacher taught all her students of the elemental connection to
each stroke. She learned this frame Hamza El Din, a Nubian musician, singer who played
the oud and frame drum.

The names of the strokes
Doum is connected to water
Tek is connected to fire
Kah/pah is connected to earth
Brush is connect to air
